Odíhg Driwinkibùg (Dri /winˈkibʊg/ [dynamics] [cut]) is a subtropical Town located in the Iēibonjām Region of the Tetbur Commune.
The name Odíhg Driwinkibùg is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Driwinkibùg was founded by Tresî Powelyn Hooley, who was culturaly Tauric.
Climate
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Odíhg Driwinkibùg receives an average of 199 cm/y (78 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Odíhg Driwinkibùg covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1396 m (4580 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Odíhg Driwinkibùg was founded durring the early 15th century in spring of the year 1425, by Tresî Powelyn Hooley. The establishment of Odíhg Driwinkibùg was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Odíhg Driwinkibùg's construction back out of the project. Tresî Powelyn Hooley pushed on reguardles, and Odíhg Driwinkibùg was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Driwinkibùg is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg is buildings are arranged within a network of spacious packed earth streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Odíhg Driwinkibùg's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. Odíhg Driwinkibùg's monster and outlaw focused fortifications are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.
Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Odíhg Driwinkibùg, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same divine, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its divine. Asside form the revrent worship, you can see the citizens are preparing for something, and that something isn’t good. Weapons are worn openly. Defensive structures have been recently constructed to guard less used areas of the town. Merchants seem very eager to sell their wares at discount prices. Something is coming.
Civic Infrastructure
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Odíhg Driwinkibùg. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Odíhg Driwinkibùg's parks.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Odíhg Driwinkibùg.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Odíhg Driwinkibùg's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Odíhg Driwinkibùg's natural decorations nor waterways.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.
Cultural Notes
There’s more than one leader in Odíhg Driwinkibùg, but at least some of them are at each other’s throats. It might be a conflict between formal leadership and informal authorities, or it could be a struggle among civil officials. Their interests might diverge sharply, or it could be a personal grudge that’s boiled over. Outside threats and internal problems are likely being ignored until the power struggle is resolved.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.
Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is recurring in Odíhg Driwinkibùg.
The Marble Snake near Odíhg Driwinkibùg are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.
Odíhg Driwinkibùg's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves orgies to channel Invocation energies of tier 2 via chanting.
Economy
